Divine Healing and Compassion.
Jeremiah 33:6 “Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.”
Surah Al-Isra 17:82 "And We send down of the Qur'an that which is healing and mercy for the believers..."
Surah Yunus 10:57: "O mankind, there has to come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the breasts and guidance and mercy for the believers." Psalm 103:2-3 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
In Islamic tradition, recognizing God's blessings, seeking His continuous forgiveness, and trusting in His role as the ultimate Healer echo the exact same spiritual themes.
1. Remembering God’s Blessings (Gratitude) Surah Ad-Duha 93:11: "And as for the favour of your Lord, report [it].
"Surah Ibrahim 14:7: "And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favour]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.'"2.
2. Forgiveness of Sins Surah Ali 'Imran 3:135: "...And who forgives sins except Allah? And they do not persist in what they have done while they know." Surah Al-A'raf 7:156: "...He said, 'My punishment - I afflict with it whom I will, but My mercy encompasses all things...'"3.
3. Healing and Relief Surah Ash-Shu'ara 26:80: "And when I am ill, it is He who cures me.
"Surah Al-Baqarah 2:214: "...Unquestionably, the help of Allah is near
Isaiah 58:8 8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning,
Exodus 15:26 26 and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.”
Isaiah 38:16 16 O Lord, by these things men live;
Psalm 107:19-20 19 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
Mark 5:34 34 And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”
Matthew 10:1 10 And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.
3 John 2 2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
Psalm 41:3 3 The Lord will strengthen him on his bed of illness;
James 5:15 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
Meeting Specific Needs James 5 (13:18) 13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.
Lastly, if even animals and flowers do their prayers to the Lord Most High why can’t we as human beings, not? Sunan Abi Dawud (Hadith 2549) and the Musnad of Imam Ahmad The Event Breakdown The Setting: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) entered a garden belonging to a man from the Ansar (local residents of Medina). The Interaction: A camel approached the Prophet, began to groan, and tears started flowing from its eyes. The Prophet comforted the animal by wiping the tears and stroking its head until it calmed down. The Rebuke: The Prophet demanded to know who owned the camel. When a young man stepped forward, the Prophet admonished him directly: "Do you not fear Allah with regard to this beast which He has placed in your possession? It has complained to me that you starve it and overwork it.”
Matthew 6:28–30 (NKJV) Jesus (PBUH) uses the flowers of the field to show how deeply God cares for human beings, promising that He will provide for your needs. The Scripture Passage28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith.
Matthew 6:26 (NKJV) A Similar Verse (Birds) Jesus makes a very similar point just a few verses earlier using birds instead of flowers: “Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” In Islam, the concept of divine provision (Rizq) mirroring Jesus’ sermon about the birds and the flowers is a central theme. The Quran explicitly highlights that God takes complete responsibility for feeding and clothing His creation, emphasizing that humans should not live in anxiety. The Direct Equivalent: 1. Relying in God Like Animals & Birds. This verse directly mirrors Jesus’ message about the lilies of the field and the birds not storing up food, yet being provided for perfectly. “And how many a creature carries not its [own] provision. Allah provides for it and for you. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing.” - Surah Al-‘Ankabut 29:60 2. God’s Guarantee to Every Creature. Just as Jesus noted that God clothes the grass and feeds the birds, the Quran notes that absolutely no living creature is left without its assigned sustenance. “And there is no creature on earth but that upon Allah is its provision, and He knows its place of dwelling and place of storage. All is in a clear register.”— Surah Hud 11:6
